If the Chiefs go 8-8 or better 49ers get a 2nd round pick.
A third- or second-rounder from Kansas City, the remnant of the Alex Smith deal. Now it can be told: The second draft choice San Francisco will receive from the Smith deal will be K.C.'s second-rounder in 2014 if the Chiefs go 8-8 or better this season. It will be a third-rounder in 2014 if Kansas City is under .500 this season.
So: San Francisco will probably have first-, second- and four third-rounders next year. But if the Chiefs surprise, it'll more likely be a one, two twos and three threes. As we've seen, GM Trent Baalke is dangerous with extra picks in his hands. If Colin Kaepernick is very good, the Niners should be annual contenders for years with the picks laid out that way. You don't have to give up anything to find a guy who can throw for 3500 yards and 20 TDs. Hell, Jason Campbell's done that. You don't give up multiple 2nds for a guy you expect to ride the running game and defense to wins. At least I hope this front office doesn't (still) think that way. Although I suspect in the end that's exactly what they've done, whether it was their intention or not. |

It is great to have Rice and Taylor once you get an O-line that keeps you upright long enough to throw to them.

Time to wake up and realize the NFL is changing to a passing league. And I'd hardly consider teams like the Colts, Saints, Packers, and Patriots to be complete teams... They do, however, have 1 thing in common. Any guess? Last edited by jd1020; 05-16-2013 at 02:32 AM.. |

That's right; I DON'T go around spouting numbers because a) we have enough people here doing it already, and b) numbers interest me about as much as Axl Mythrose's future on this ****ing team. I use my own brand of logic based on NFL history, and I rather enjoy it. Here's an example: "Martyball" as a refrence has NOTHING to do with Reids schemes or philosophy overall. The reference relates to Reids past success level combined with his recent and UN-****INGDISPUTEABLE downward trend. Add those factors all up with a gig in KC(and the usual, "brilliant" offseason moves), and the end result succes-wise, WILL BE....without a merry ****ing DOUBT....come on and say it with me Bad Guy... Wait for it..... "Martyball". Welcome back to the 90's. Posted via Mobile Device |

Elite defenses. So, basically the Chiefs' hopes of winning in the playoffs with Alex Smith rest on Andy Reid deviating drastically from his career offensive designs and going instead to a ball-control, Martyball approach, and the defense blossoming into an elite to all-time-great defense under the tutelage of an offensive-minded coach. Sounds like a winner.

You're weak-sauce, BigPuss. I am glad you are back around though. You make me chuckle... much like watching a dachshund bark fiercely to a rottweiler on the other side of the fence.

Who the **** calls Eli "near Elite"? Probably the same dipshits that call Flacco a glorified game-manager.

Yeah, it's not like they've improved the team or anything
