Freese is just not a good hitter anymore. For that matter, neither is Holliday. He can't hit anything over 90 MPH. It's too easy to pitch to them, it's not a particularly good defensive team, and it has no speed. This team is going nowhere.

Yadi is headed to St. Louis for an MRI on his knee.
Great work, guys. In no way could anyone have seen this coming.

If you've seen Beltran hit over the last month it's pretty clear that we can let him go.
Freese has no trade value, and Carpenter's bat doesn't profile at 3rd. It just doesn't. Ryan Jackson has regressed heavily over the last month, and looks no better than Kozma. Make the qualifying offer to Beltran and take the pick. Start Adams at 1st and stick Craig in right.

Well looks like the Cards have expressed interest in Aybar. What would you be willing to give up? Kozma is absolutely killing this team and I would give up one of our prospects for him except for Taveras.

This was going to happen eventually. It's a shame Taveras has been hurt or else he could've been the bat we need to give life to this lineup.
Since Rangers are open to listening to any offer, Cards need to realistically see if Profar is available. He may not be the immediate bat we need, but he could lock down SS for years. We have excess pitching prospects so offer up Martinez and some other combinations for him (not Taveras, Miller, or Wacha). |

Matheny is a terrible ****ing manager. People gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was gifted an amazing roster that even he couldn't really **** up last year. The dipshit literally rode Yadi until his knee blew up. This is what happens when you hire guys with really no coaching experience.

Let's not also forget that after Dave Duncan left, Mo didn't go out and hire an actual pitching coach, but promoted the guy that got Duncan his morning coffee. With a real manager and a real pitching coach, that could mean several more wins. Jury is out on Mabry, but that's because McGwire was a flaming abortion.

I don't have an accurate read on Lilliquist, so I'm not going to chuck him under the bus.
However, I would want little of Profar. He has been absolutely awful this year. Kozma, despite one of the worst offensive seasons ever, has been worth almost a full win more than Profar. Furthermore, name the last Rangers prospect they signed/drafted and developed that lived up to the hype. Oh, and Elvis Andrus is hitting every bit as poorly as Kozma. It might just be time to accept that, save firing Matheny, the problems this team has are not fixable in a manner that is in the best interest of the franchise. If you want to trade Adams and Jenkins for Profar, then fine, but even that might be a stretch.

I do know one thing about him. There have been several games this year when he waited several batters too long to waddle his fat ass out to the mound to talk to a struggling pitcher. I don't know how good he is behind the scenes in working with the pitchers but I know he has the ability to be absolutely awful in his in-game management.
