*.* 2013 General Fitness Thread *.*
Welcome to 2013! Now get your ass in top physical condition!
**From the 2012 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

That's how you do it. But Vitamin Shoppe is so expensive, even with the deal.

My usual ON Whey for $52.99 (77 servings) and two containers of BodyTech Casein for $29.99 (29 servings each). All came out to $97. I see you guys post links for protein all the time but never bother to look. Is it significantly cheaper online? |

I'm hooked on the Walmart brand protein. Body Fortress chocolate peanutbutter. 2 lbs for 15$. Shit is so good mixed with milk, a frozen banana and a big spoon of natty PB.

That's what I use but I saw some post on /fit/ claiming that Body Fortress claims 30g of protein per scoop, but someone tested it and it only had 19g or so.

I saw some garbage on reddit about it, but no official studies or testing. Even if it was only 20g I'd still hit it. Just had a shake with vanilla ice cream added in with that PB flavor.

It has like 6g of creatine per serving though so maybe its not the best for drinking other than once a day.

I drink the vanilla from Walmart and put in a squirt of chocolate syrup. It's great. Too much sugar? Probably...but I get a lot of protien, and it serves as my junkfood fix.

I have not tried the vanilla yet, just the choc pb. I'm gonna pick some up tonight though. Gonna try the regular chocolate too. Cookies N cream kind of scares me.. no one every gets that flavor right.
