I wish the entire topic of discussion went away. Also, why so many periods?

Use ellipsis marks when omitting a word, phrase, line, paragraph, or more from a quoted passage. There are many methods for using ellipses. The three-dot method is the simplest and is appropriate for most general works and many scholarly ones. The three- or four-dot method and an even more rigorous method used in legal works require fuller explanations that can be found in other reference books. These are commonly used as a way of trailing off a sentence, kind of a fade out, or used in a sentence to connect two or more different thoughts, like a stream of consciousness type of thing. |

I don't think that is true at all. And no one can honestly tell me, although some will try, (clay, sdh) that there is a big enough difference in ceilings to say that having Bray, opposed to having Geno is a big deal. Its not. The difference is that while Bray gets to take the Aaron Rodgers route, Geno Smith is having to go the Alex Smith, David Carr, Joey Harrington, Ryan Leaf route of being the guy far too soon, even though they weren't ready to do so. If I am not mistaken, Geno Smith was passed by the jets not once, but TWICE in the first round? Dee Milliner, and then Sheldon Richardson? So he was their 3rd option? Yet, he is a starter, and people are freaking out over a bad game. Where as Chiefs fans are upset because they don't take risks with qbs. Isnt Bray a risk? Sure, hes going to sit for a minimum of a year, probably two, but if you can win now, and groom your qb, isn't that like the ultimate situation? And, last point. If Alex Smith does indeed fail, and the Chiefs end up with a high pick in the top 10, they can draft a qb to compete with Bray. Seems like a pretty sound strategy to me.

The fanbase is excited about Bray because he carries no risk. He's a UDFA. He doesn't work out, nothing lost. I guarantee people wouldn't have the same feelings for Bray had we taken him in the 1st or 2nd round. Because then he's "risky". It's all about risk with the fanbase. People claim that the wrong QB sets the franchise back a decade. Meanwhile, taking the wrong 5-tech, WR, Safety or NT is no big deal. People can argue all they want, but the numbers don't lie. Want to win a Super Bowl? Draft a QB in the first 32 picks - by far the best odds. Yes, pocket aces can get cracked, but I'll take them every hand over 8-3 offsuit and take my chances. |

More 1st round QB's have won SB's because typically the more talented players, gasp, go in the 1st round than later rounds. Geno went in the 2nd round, therefore he isn't as talented as a typical 1st round QB. By this tried and true logic Geno is less likely to win a SB. We dodged a bullet. |

QFT People don't want to take a chance on a QB first or second round so our reward is 0 wins in the playoffs 20 years. Thanks Carl for neutering this franchise fan base.
