Ive played a ton of games in my life....but have never played Half-Life or Portal.
Should I pick them up (Steam has them both under 5 buck.....and I think there's a bundle under 10 that has HL 1 and 2 and Portal together, with a couple others). Pull the trigger?

get the bundle. Does it include HL source? That held up surprisingly well. How old are those games? I imagine they are not as revolutionary now than when I was building my first gaming computer. Voodoo 3 FTW!
todays sales are very meh.

If you really want to game, invest a few hundred bucks in a basic gaming PC. I can help you. Hell, I'll build the thing for you.

I usually charge 75 bucks plus parts to build, more to overclock and test stability etc. If your not localish to me though, it will almost certainly cost enough in shipping that you would be better off DIYing it or having someone local to you do it.
Rausch happens to live near me is why I threw it out there. |

I used to order more direct via steam but not much lately. I got a good deal on CS:GO when that came out, but that's the last one I bought. I waited for some of the Assassin's Creed games to go on sale via Amazon and got much sweeter deals than offered via steam.

I got AC4 for free when I bought my 780, but at the time, because of the Nvidia promotion, they where going on r/steamgameswap for 10 bucks. Another great thing about Steam is that you can take your amazon game key, and activate it via steam. So, you still have all your stuff in the same place, the downloading and updating is handled, and you can buy it at whatever price is better. |
