Let's just hope that late tonight we can all smile again cause our ps3's will no longer be in danger of being worthless. Funny thing for me, or not funny is that if I waited another week i could've gotten a 120gig slim, instead i got the drakes package 160gb ps3 (for the same price of the slim of course). |

This is apparently rumor but in theory once the times in the GMT (Greenwitch Mean Time.) hits midnight the hardware will set itself back to normal..at least able to connect to PSN.
12:00 AM GMT= 7PM Eastern 6PM Central 5PM Mountain 4PM Pacific I'll let you guys know if it works at 6 pm central time since I already turned my PS3 on. |

IF the turn over of the day does not fix it and they don't fix all of the effected units for free, there will be blood. this is what everyone is worried about right now.

What irritates me the most though is the "lack of function/data loss." that could happen would be...if you were able to play any game and you did earn trophies right before the whole network crashed. But if you turned it on after the crash...you can't earn trophies so you can't lose anything!
At least...that's what I'm telling myself so I don't enlist in the Army to start bombing the Japs who made my PS3. BONZAI!!!!! |

Coincidently or not, the store shelves have been out of PS3's for awhile. Maybe they're stocking up to replace all the old models.

I've had my PS3 for the past 2 1/2 years so my warranty is out. Other forums that I frequent are saying that people have opened their systems, took out the battery, replaced it and boom everything is 100% fine. In theory this means that once the INTERNAL clock (diff from the OS clock) realizes its not Feb 29th (the cause of the problem), the OS clock will default to the correct date and time and everything will be back to normal. Again, this is all speculation.

I am hoping its all fine, because if not, and Sony doesn't get me at least 1 ****ing working PS3 within a reasonable amount of time (1 or 2 days), I will go nuts and never buy anything Sony again.
