DeepSouth--
Do you think Kerry Collins has what it takes to lead his team to the SB? Not a rip, just wondering. :) BTW, I hate the fucking Rams. Me picking them assures they will get nowhere close! :D MM ~~Mr. Bad Luck. ------------------ One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures. --George W. Rams went 4-6 down the stretch. It will be tough to reverse that trend on the road in three sudden-death games. I don't have my picks yet - can I give them in a few weeks?

Funny no one is picking the Raiduhs.
Doesn't look like even UD wants to jinx them. |

Just gotta get in my digs. Of the 12 teams in the playoffs, 7 [Miami, Baltimore, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, New York Giants, and New Orleans] are teams where the D far outshadows the O. Further, I don't have the figures, but it appears that by-and-large the running game outshadows the passing game.
Kinda puts the debates between 'open-up the O' and 'concentrate of rebuilding the D' we had LAST January in persepctive, no? |

Mark M, If the Giants get to the superbowl, it will be because of their defense and the fact they have homefield advantage throughout not because of Collins. I believe it's hard for domed teams (Rams, Saints, Vikings) to go into a bad weather environment and win. This is especially true if the dome teams win by using a highpowered offense (rams, vikings). I'd say the Bucs and the Eagles have the best chance to beat the Giants in NY. It'll be tough for the Eagles since they have no running game and rely totally on McNabb.
My hope is; The Saints beat the Rams. The Bucs beat Philly in Philly. The Saints beat the Vikings in Minneapolis. The Bucs beat the Giants in NY. The Saints host the Bucs for the NFC Championship. |

I just don't see anyone beating the Titans, period! In the NFC, since nobody stands out as a solid rounded team, weather factors included, I'll go homer and pick Minnesota. The Rams are the only team I think will beat the Vikings, and they won't get past Giants Stadium. The weak link Viking D could hold down the G-men just enough to squeek by.
