I did hear by 6 or 7pm Tuesday, there was 3 or 4 inches of snow on some major roads around here, much less side streets... and MoDot basically waved the white flag by telling employers to keep people home for the entire day. I've been stuck in early rush hour in crap like that, and it turns a 15-20 minute drive home into hours.
That doesn't mean people should stock up like they aren't going to leave the house for two weeks or stay home the day after, once the snow plows have caught up (unless of course they didn't hit your street), but I understand people wanting to avoid the traffic for a day. I can work from anywhere with an internet connection though, so staying home just means speakers instead of headphones and a couch instead of a cube.... and no pants.

Traffic was way worse this AM than yesterday. I think lots of people stayed home on Wed, and more decided to try to get out and about this AM. The roads were plowed, but had a lot of black ice on them from the extreme cold. I almost got whacked on Truman Road, because it took me about 30 yards to stop my Jeep, and I was in 4 wheel drive and only doing 25 mph! Hope I make it home tonight OK, everybody SLOW DOWN!!

I've always said, "Meh...I can shovel it myself." But with this snowfall, I tweaked my back and my foot while shoveling. I know what I'm buying this summer.

I know he'd never go and get it himself- way too frugal a guy. He loves having it, and always mentions when he gets a chance to use it, and acts like a giddy kid talking about how quickly and easily he got the driveway, sidewalks, and walkways all cleared. I think he likes playing with it more even as he's often cleared a couple of their neighbours driveways who are older couples and wouldn't be able to do it themselves.

It even has a headlight... but, with a couple of cats that wander around the neighborhood, I'm afraid fluffy might end up across the street if I didn't see it in time.

I get it if you live out in the country in hilly terrain. That being said, if you live out in the country in hilly terrain, that's your choice. You also need to "choose" to prepare accordingly. My friends lived in the hilly Ozarks down a couple of miles of steep dirt roads with overhanging trees. Zero plowing happening. They'd park their cars (which were all AWD/4WD vehicles anyway) out on the blacktop then user their 4wheelers to shuttle back and forth to their vehicles.

We're supposed to get more snow Saturday and Monday. Not sure if I even want to bother with shoveling my driveway.

Tonight guy's week ends. My wife flew to NYC on Monday morning early. Schools been cancelled until today. The boys and I have had fun, but tonight we drive out to the middle of nowhere (if you've ever flown into NWA regional, you know what I'm talking about) to pick her up. I hope the roads are good and clear. I need no more complications.
