***OFFICIAL Walterfootball.com Mock Draft Thread***

He updates his mock draft like once a week.....so I'll just post them when I see them.

#23 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

Jonathan Baldwin has struggled this year amid quarterbacking issues, but he's still a physical freak at 6-5, 230.
Quote:
#54 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jabaal Sheard, DE/OLB, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.
Quote:
#87 - Kansas City Chiefs: Christian Ballard, DE/DT, Iowa

The Chiefs could use some help up front; they've struggled against the run lately after a great start to the season in that department.

It's not a terrible pick, but I'd rather go with Battle+UDFA and spend the 4th rounder elsewhere than go that route

He had almost 600 touches in his last two years of college, and that's not counting the reps he had at CC.

If you look at backs that were used heavily in college, almost none of them made an immediate impact:

Ron Dayne, Cedric Benson, Mike Hart, Kevin Smith. All of those guys got tons of touches, and even the ones that turned it around later in their careers, like Benson and Williams, were still monumental disappointments out of the gate.

Damn solid draft if that would happen.
The Patriots (and Pioli) draft players from three places with their high picks:

The SEC
The Big X
Tha U.

The first three picks are somewhat likely.

Actually during Pioli's tenure in New England, they drafted Big 12 more than anybody else. But that fits in as well.

As a counter-argument to this, I don't think I've ever seen a college RB run with more tenacity than AP, so he created a lot of (for lack of a better term) high-stress touches for himself, and he was obviously an ass-kicker from the jump.

750 attempts in 3 years and 220 and 188 his last two.

Updated Jan. 27th:

#21 - Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia
The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali (who happens to be a free agent) would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.

Justin Houston has really opened up some eyes with 19.5 TFL and 11 sacks as a junior this season. He has soared into top-25 consideration.

#55 - Jerrel Jernigan, WR, Troy
A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

#86 - Jerrell Powe, NT, Ole Miss
The Chiefs need some help up front; they struggled against the run late in the year after a great start to the season in that department.

#117 - Daniel Thomas, RB, Kansas State Thomas Jones, 33 in August, is owed $3 million in 2011. He wasn't very effective this past season, so the Chiefs could let him go. If that happens, Daniel Thomas would be a very cheap alternative.

Not a fan of the 2nd/4th. Jernigan is listed at 5'9'' and I'd much rather draft Tim Barnes in the 4th.

I like the picks of Houston and Powe. I don't know much about Jernigan. I think that we would be better served to use Battle and get an UDFA instead of drafting a RB this year.

Me either. Sucks that Hankerson is now flying up the draft boards towards the first round and at the very least before we pick in round 2. I really liked the look of his mock last week with Houston, Hankerson and Powe in the first three rounds.

Its beginning to look like we need to trade down. If we can get the Bears to move ahead of the Colts for the best OT that would be nice. Get their 1st and 3rd for that. Wisniewski would be a better pick in that range or even Hankerson.

If we are going to trade down to late first, I'd draft Torrey Smith before Hankerson.

of course it's dependent which "valued" prospects drops also, for example if Julio Jones or if Jake Locker falls

Whether it's Oher, Dez Bryan, or Aaron Rodgers, someone always slips.

If we are sitting at 21 and there is no value but at OT, maybe we can move down, but other than that, it's going to be hard to find a trade partner.

If we traded down past 25, I'd be good with Hankerson even in the first.

I think Battle's a decent back, actually. I'd not waste a pick when I think we're fairly deep at RB.\

I like the Houston pick and I like the Powe pick, especially if we also sign a FA NT to share the load.
