I was watching on TV from Texas. You could tell he probably had a concussion but nothing life threatening or anything that would result in paralysis, etc. I admit I was pleased but not because he was injured. I was glad that FINALLY there had to be a change. Pioli and Crennel were basically telling the Chiefs fans to stick it up our collective ass. They were going to jeopardize a very fine young running back coming back from an ACL by running him to death simply to cover for Pioli's mistake. As for Winston, he is just continuing his self-appointed team leader/public spokesperson role that he liked to play in Houston. Never met a camera or microphone that he didn't like. (My sons, sister and many other family members live in Houston and were getting tired of his act.) Read Jason Whitlock's column for more on my take on Winston. As with many of you, i have been a Chiefs fan for longer than Winston has been alive. I don't need his lectures.

I'm an end-justifies-the-means type of guy. If Cassel isn't playing because he got benched, or cut, or finally realized he's a complete ****ing fraud as an NFL quarterback and quit, or suffered a sprained ankle, or a ruptured labia, or was dismembered in a ****ing combine accident, I'm good with it.
Get the **** off the field. And stay off it. The End. |

I wasn't thinking long term and I don't wish injury on him, but I was indeed hoping to see change at the position.

where's the "its a pioli conspiracy to give casshole a reason to sit, us a reason to see quinn, take some heat from the banner escapade and hopefully save his job." option?

In 2009 I gave that season to him as a transition season even though he was downright terrible. He showed some promise in the 2010 season but against a soft schedule and division that we've pretty much owned the past decade (NFCW). That all changed once we played Baltimore in the playoffs. In 2011 it was a giant shit storm a lot like it is now. Then I blamed the coaching nightmare we had then and the way they handled the NFL lockout for the shitty start..not to mention injuries to 2 of our most important players. This season I figured with everyone back from injury, a full training camp with no coaching cancers, we could come running out of the gates and on our way to a AFCW title. Holy **** was I wrong. Not only didn't I think the defense would be as bad as it's been (though it's improved) I sure as hell didn't think Cassel would be Cpt. Turnover Machine. This team "might" win 6 games, or just enough to get us out of the Geno Smith running which will piss absolutely everyone off. I don't feel bad for Cassel....not one god damn bit. He essentially stole $50M from the Hunts for services that arguably could have been done from a backup QB, which is exactly what he is in this league. I understand the move/trade at the time...however I sure as **** don't understand the contract and there will never be any convincing me of that being the right move....That's on Pioli 100%. Cassel can't be fixed...it's a passing league and we need a QB that can compete to that manner. It was a failed experiment and if Pioli wants to win back some fans he would part ways with Cassel and draft Geno Smith. End of story.

No, don't want to srr Cassie get injured. When I keep hearing that he's the best we got, miles ahead of Quinn, my attitude is fine, he's playing hard and sucking large, so let's move on. Now Quinn comes in with some zip and fanesse and I'm excited to see what he can do. It'll make for a more interesting season or a at least a few games. If we pick up a few wins, the board will smile.
