This will be Smiths best year EVER !

Andy Reid says it takes 3-4 years to learn his offense. Smith should have that in the bag now. I think the last part of Andy's install is the part where he teaches the QB to look downfield so this year all the pieces of Andy's complex puzzle are in place.

Plus Smiff is playing for a contract now.

Feel free to discuss.

I'd say 10-6, but if the OL can get above bottom tier, and Houston returns to be effective? yeah, maybe more than 10.

I'm almost hopeful he'll retire or leave KC, if this season continues its shit-show on offense.

I'm still not buying in that he is the primary problem... but I did expect him to be carrying the offense better than this. I also expected a better OL and less receiver/Ware fumbles than I am seeing. I also expected Andy/Alex to become more aggressive in this yr 4.

.....

... and obviously, sinking this offense is not the same as lifting it out of the water. Apparently Alex is not good enough to lift the playcalling, bottom tier OL, and frequent skill player ****ups.. out of the water. Find a QB that can? hey... go for it. How many QBs out there are there that can do so? 3? 5? and are they available?

That said, we have seen many a young QB have early success, only to later fizzle out or regress a bit over time. Whether the opposition evolves to better learn their weaknesses and exploit them? or whether the player's game slips for other reasons (loses talent around him, gets lazy or sloppy fundamentals due to the early success, or loses confidence at some point).

I don't think Smith needs things to be as wonderful around him as it sounds in your last comments.. but he does need more than brokedicks and incompetence around him. He needs better WRs than what he had against NE last season. He needs an OL that doesn't constanty live in the bottom tier. Would be nice if the Chiefs' best players could actually be healthy enough for a change.

Beyond that, yes.. Smith has had lots of poor pass pro OLs... and has had highly underwhelming WR talent around him. Until now.. and that's still contingent on JMac getting off his ass to help.

The OL looked to have done a decent job against DEN, to me. Sure.. there were times that Ware had to make his yards on his own. Times where Smith took some crazy quick pressures/hits. That's just gonna happen against that D, and when the KC line is more finesse than brute force.

Not at all a great OL this season, as hoped, but they are also out of the bottom tier for the first time in the Andy era.

Sorry, couldn't hear you. Too busy compliantly ****ing myself, as with any other time I've had the poor judgment to enter your purview.

My point is, you might have a little more long term credibility is just once when the reeruns resume their spamming you dropped even a succinct 'bug off dudes, you're making us look reeruned.'

Yeah, it's starting to sink in. Jason is not a person to converse with, unless it's totally on his terms and fully cognizant of his superiority over the hoi polloi.

Actually, I'm having a hard time figuring how conversing with the esteemed Jason could ever be pleasant, unless you're a self-hating masochist.

I've got plenty of credibility here.

And Sandy, tigger, and their merry band of dupes can't make "us" look like anything, they aren't a part of "us".

It may Smiths best year ever. I doubt it considering the teams we play but it should be his last year as a Chief. So this thread is correct if it changes best to last.

So you admit you're lying to cover for those who want Mahomes rushed into the lineup, but it's OK because they're your friends.

I remember when being a fan was rooting for the team to thrive.

I get it, the world is passing me by.

I'll get out of your guys' hair.
