CP Job/Work/Service Directory
As the economy has dictated, many people are in tight situations financially and have had work troubles. Lately it seems a ton of those situations find their way on to CP.
I was thinking that it might be a good idea to create some sort of directory of legit members' businesses and services that they offer, in an attempt to support each other's work and ultimately, pocketbooks. For instance, if CP member X had a heating/cooling business, and CP member Y needed a new heating/cooling unit, Y could find X easily from the directory and spend money that way. And we could all refer business to each other as well. We could even network and discuss job openings and such; trade resumes, etc... I don't know the logistics of this, but I thought it might be fun for someone who likes creating stuff like that to do. ********* Who Does What ********** Phobia: contractor - residential and commercial in the KC area Hogfarmer: Pig servicer Jilly: Ordained Minister- presides over weddings and funerals Lumpy: Printing Industry - prints pretty much everything Buck: Printing Industry - prints pretty much everything KCChiefsFanGoJC: Automotive Repair - transmissions, 4x4, transfer cases, differentials - in Columbus, OH KCFanXIII: Cleans and services swimming pools Ari Chi3fs: Local search optimization and Search Engine Optimization (gets your business found online) - http://advangel.com os: Winterizes RV's Inspector's Sons: Heating and AC work, Member of Vedera, Manufacturing in LS and BS, UPS, and Soldier Gonzo: Security - guarding, vehicle patrols and portable alarm systems. I suppose if someone needs a really poorly written term paper in the Columbia area, I can provide one on the cheap.

I'm looking for a reliable, affordable web design/hosting service and possibly an email host as well.....
I think a thread like this, where someone proposes their need(like mine above) that can be answered via pm would be awesome. 2 trusting individuals can do business without concern of public hoopleheadedness. I've worked with at least 3 planet members professionaly in some capacity in the past couple of years and it's worked very well. |

Hey - you're the guy who did all that ornate stuff for Kris Kringle. You see him around the neighborhood often?

I would tell you a story, revealing things that would explain why I react the way that I do...a story with plot twists more entriguing than an Athan-read mother goose rhyme...but I have neither the time nor the inclination. |

usually this kind of service is best found online - although I am in web hosting it is a specialized type. If you are looking at a shared account I have heard good things about bluehost they provide cpanel access as well - that usually/ can include email. Good Luck |

I work in drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Our services should probably be more popular with this board population than they are.
BTW -- yes, I am aware of the irony involved with my job in that I consume a lot of beer. |

I work in the film marketing field, but it's in KC, so I've already pretty much reached the pinnacle of the film industry in Kansas City. And I am 24. And I don't even get benefits.
My dream is to work a job that will allow me be within arms reach of the film industry, and in my free time, write screenplays. I want to make my job relate to my hobby... novel and idealistic, yes, but I haven't sold out my dreams yet or knocked a girl up or anything. I'd also like to be in a market/city that embraces film... and that's not here. I am ready to leave and chase the dream yesterday. The thing holding me back right now is money. I am making barely enough to pay the bills, but I can't get a different job because once you get out of the industry, its nearly impossible to get back in. I would up and leave for a LA, or Austin, but I can't afford it. I have been job hunting for months, I even saved and traveled down for an interview (worst experience of my life), and still can't land a job in either of those markets. It's hard when you live states away, and are as young as I am. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

D84: film commercials, and put them on YouTube. Just put in writing with the client that a certain amount of hits equals bonus pay at each goal hit number. Negotiate a deal in that when you get the commercial on TV, you get paid well enough.

However, I do that sort of stuff with the studios now though, through the firm I work with. But to get any legit client just isn't feasible. These fellas (Warner Bros., Paramount, Columbia, Screengems, Lionsgate.... and many, many more) go through national agencies, not a one man band. |

Hey, Spike, I think your fur is gross. And you're a real son-of-a-bitch, you know that? Why don't you go back to licking yourself to sleep, because you and I both know that no real bitch would ever have you. You stupid mutt.
Hmm... I think I could do this job also! |
