Andy Reid says it takes 3-4 years to learn his offense. Smith should have that in the bag now. I think the last part of Andy's install is the part where he teaches the QB to look downfield so this year all the pieces of Andy's complex puzzle are in place.

Plus Smiff is playing for a contract now.

This isn't even about Alex. It's about being so deranged about the QB position that people don't even care about anything regarding the team, except for playing the QB lottery until they turn over a magic Brady.

Fortunately, the organization itself is run by professionals who know the value of developing the entire team AS WELL AS targeting a promising QB prospect.

The current competence of the franchise does not detract from the woeful state of the fanbase.

Gonna need some citation here. I have read every post of the Mahomes thread (god help me) and the "rush him in posts" are very few and far between. In fact I think there has rarely been such a clear consensus on CP that prudence is the proper course.

What is this place for? I'll admit I can't stand some asshole coming in here and telling us how we should feel about our team, I hate having to hear all the excuses for alex now hearing them flip and talk about those excuses like they are now something positive FOR mahomes.

I get that, and I'm sure people will turn on Alex and demand Mahomes at some point. But as of now the conversation is pretty rational. I'll take that for as long as I can get it. As for cries for the rookie phenom backup to be put in, every fanbase in the history of the NFL has been susceptible to that. We will be no exception, your prophylactic measures notwithstanding.
