I don't think it's down a bunch or has bluegreen algae. I think the big spring may have dried up though. For sure but I heard it. |

I've been doing good so far at lake Wilson this year so I'm just going stay close to home then. I do miss Scott Lake from when I grew up camping there. |

Been with Prime for a few years now, and love it. The price is going up from $79 to $99 (or maybe already has), but you can gift yourself a subscription for a future date - as in the day before you current sub expires - to lock in the price for the future. I did one year, and we'll see how it is going by then. Didn't wanna risk two years b/c that's $160 to lay out on spec.
More importantly, if you're doing Prime you need to do Amazon Mom. You don't really need to have children, you can basically just make up any relationship to a child (grandkid, niece, nephew, cousin, etc.) and qualify. 20% off diapers and wipes immediately, and then if you're doing subscribe & save for 5 items a month you get 20% off the whole lot. I get all my household supplies this way and save on gas too. Not to mention time at the stores. If you are on the fence about getting Prime, I might also suggest enrolling in Bing rewards. You can very easily get a $5/month Amazon gift card for click activity - which can be completely automated and done in less than 3 minutes daily. Basically the service is paid for and you can just enjoy the shipping/streaming. There are definitely points for referral bonuses so if you want to know more and don't mind clicking through my link so we both get credited, drop me a PM (I don't want to spam with my link). |

That being said, I'm not sure I want to get too deep in the hole either. I suspect eBay will figure-out how much business they're losing based on the 2-day shipping deal, and try to compete. Perhaps not, but at this point they'd be stupid not to see the people fleeing. And going back to what I read about the streaming saga, and seeing it for what it is, I can see the "corporate machine" at play there too. Everybody knows Amazon owns Kindle, we know that business unit prolly wants them to keep video streaming on Droid devices specific to THEIR Kindle product, and the corporate machine is giving in. I'm sure it'll change at some point and the world will see a Droid App for streaming like is available on Apple products, but it does show them for the ruthless corporate giant they are. But this has been an awesome thread and I'm waiting for the next "big round of buying" I do (I just got done with a burst using eBay), then I'll sign-up. And I think I've figured-out the "student" deal. I can use my own account, all I'd need is a copy of my son's student ID to seal the deal. That way it'd be "mine", but just getting the price break because he's a student. Heck, much of it will be for him, so it's hardly a scam of the system! But alas, I'm still not sure what the other gotcha's might be by doing so. I'll throw a dart at a dart board to help me figure it out soon enough... |

Ever tried returning something to Wal Mart lately? I'd much rather talk to a polite Indian or Philipino than deal with the rude, abrasive, toothless trailer trash at the Wal Mart service desk. |

What is it about Wal Mart that brings out the dregs of society?
Target doesn't attract that clientele and their prices are fairly similar to Wal Mart. I don't get it? Posted via Mobile Device |

I don't think you can share the student Prime, but don't hold me to that

Yep. Amazon has some of the best customer service anywhere. They'll do things nobody else will do (like give me a full refund on an electronic device that failed 30 days after the initial return period).

That said, if your confirmation email says "guaranteed delivery date," you're absolutely correct - they'll tack on a free month if it's not there by that date. |
