NFL MVP
Interesting debates on these every year, here's one from ESPN.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12...demarco-murray Peyton, Rodgers, Brady, Murray, Watt, Luck... Where would you guys lean? I don't know, part of me tends to lean towards Murray quite honestly. I think Peyton's crazy 2013 year hurts the image of what he's done in 2014, especially when compared against the other QBs that are getting all the MVP talk. Peyton's right there with them. Aside from all that, I think it's a pretty even race among the QBs in the discussion... I wouldn't give it Watt, I think my vote with be DeMarco. |

I'm sorry Virus - but after watching him in that SD game - he looked freaking sharp - I mean - quick release, decisiveness etc.... He is poised - I'm afraid to say for certain - but I'd be somewhat surprised if the Pats don't take it all this season - which would be rad because we could say we beat the champs.

In my Opinion - Tom is still better than Aaron - But also perhaps a little less consistent. Brady (when he's hitting) is an awesome QB. Just with what I've seen.

Watt is the best player in the league. It's not his fault that his position doesn't give him control over games like QB does

Yeah, but to be fair that game was the Cardinals with Carson Palmer.

If it's a stats game - that's one thing, but you take into account the team's performance no?

It's also relative to attempts... Rodgers has a big edge on the INTs per attempt.
TDs Manning = 1 TD per 13.9 attempts Rodgers = 1 TD per 13 attempts Brady = 1 TD per 16.6 attempts INTs Manning = 1 INT per 46.9 attempts Rodgers = 1 INT per 91.6 attempts Brady = 1 INT per 66.3 attempts

I take into account stats, overall team performance (wins), and my eye test. Rodgers wins the eye test. He has the best arm of the three, moves well in pocket, and runs almost as well as Alex Smith, which is about 10x better than either Peyton or Brady. Rodgers also wins the stats argument because I weight TD:INT ratio so highly. Yards are nice but ultimately don't indicate stellar QB play. Completion percentage means almost nothing unless it's stellar (>70%) or horrible (<60%). Overall team performance is a wash. I think they all have the same record or within 1 game of each other. If you asked me who was the best team in the league in week 4 I would have said the Broncos. If you asked in week 8 I would have said the Patriots. If you asked me in week 12 I would have said the Packers. Now id say they're all top 5 with the Seahawks being number 1. |

That last paragraph isn't right because I would have said the Seahawks were the best team in week 4. But if you had asked me who was the best of the three, I would have said the Broncos at that point in time.
