The whole thing really reads like speculation, but here's hoping it's informed speculation. Quote:

You know, it's actually probably a good thing because what we've had hasn't been working so I guess I should welcome the change.

I fully disagree.
Favre almost quit because of the hiring of McCarthy and the subsequent youth movement. Now the Packers have the youngest team in the league and they're fresh off an NFC Championship appearance. If the weather conditions hadn't been so drastic, it's likely that the Pack would have been in the Super Bowl (they were favored). This team is set up to win and win for a long time, regardless of Favre's status. |

I'm not upset. I'm merely pointing out that you get what you pay for.
Everyone is using the Packers as an example of how to rebuild and look what they did, signed veteran corner, Charles Woodson. Hmmm-that really was a screw up, now wasn't it?

According to a Seattle board, the Seahawks offered Brown a deal that would have made him the highest paid kicker in the league, and he wanted more money than what they were offering. The team didn't want to let him go, but thinks they did everything possible to keep him. His demands just weren't reasonable.

Favres 95.7 Qb rating, 4155 passing yards and 28 TDs had nothing to do with them winning 13 games.

Brown is a local boy sort of. He's from tiny Foyil, OK. I'll bet he doesn't sign with the looser Chiefs. I don't blame him.

If that's the case, I hope we don't sign him. You don't build championship teams by having far and away the most expensive kicker in the league, and the highest paid center as two of your building blocks. |
