All depends on who is available from the other positions.

This. The ravens have made a living off of guys who fall. I'd be willing depending the board.

I'm highly tempted to take Darius Robinson at #32, would take Newton as well.
Feels likely that quality OTs are taken and there's a gap at WR around #32, which in my mind makes DL a potential opportunity. Not that we need a guy, but would be awesome to add another killer! |

Lord - who actually got drafted? It'd be a really tough choice there. I'd probably take Murphy over anyone else. Newton/Mitchell/Morgan is a really really tight group for me. I'd almost rather move down to 34, pick up a 4th rounder and hope someone makes the decision for me...

We should be building the trenches first and foremost on both sides of the ball but man the Skyy and Toney investments netted zero last year. Otherwise I wouldn't mind seeing us build similar to the eagles. With trenches first.

With Jones signed up long-term, I'd find it difficult to pick a DT in round 1. Not that I don't love both players but neither are well-served by playing 1-tech and neither have a great anchor in run support.
I'm not a strong proponent of drafting DTs in round 1 unless they are a phenomenal pass rusher, and I see Newton as that type, but how much do we need that guy with Jones? I think there are going to be some values between the end of the 3rd and the 5th rounds that will accomplish what you need there. |

Laiatu Latu apparently was flagged for medical reasons and may fall? I’d trade up for him for sure.
It is draft week tho so it feels like this is team driven to get him to fall to them

I know it's kinda silly, but man - I'd have a hard time not nerding out over getting Newton and Sweat in here to anchor the middle of that line for a half-decade. And yes, I know that puts a ceiling of sorts on Newton but you can get 40 snaps/gm rotating him in for Sweat on passing downs or in for Jones when Jones kicks out wide. And Jones may need to spend more time outside as he gets a little older just to take some of the beating off him. If your interior line rotation becomes Jones/Newton/Sweat/Farrell/Wharton then you can likely still get a fair amount of juice from each of those guys. It's just hard to convince myself that we could have too much talent there. That kind of interior production makes things so much easier for everyone else. Really moreso than any other spot on the defense, IMO. And if you can still use the 2nd and 3rd rounds to target WR and probably developmental OL (even if it's a OG long-term) then it's hard to complain about that total return.

But yeah - that's a JIMP of a draft. I just see Pearsal, Amegadjie and Sweat all going in those rounds, but about 10-12 picks ahead of us.

Yeah....you might be able to grab Blake Fisher in the 3rd and another WR in the 2nd. Or just take Amegadjie in the 2nd and a WR in the 3rd.
