It's been out for a few years now, but in a beta version. The "official" release was last November (per Wikipedia).

Hammer and nails are fun for little boys but get real old real fast. Today's play prepares for tomorrow's world and hammer and nails don't teach a whole lot aside from how to be in a dead end job. You might let them play a little more on the computer side.

they've been playing it for a few weeks now, pretty cool what from what I can understand about it. I like that it is building instead of destroying, exploring instead of killing.

Anyone else play this? My son is just now starting to get into it. I dont get the appeal? it looks straight out of 1987.

I caught that on NeoGaf a few months ago --- so amazing.
They're working on a standalone game with this, last I read.

However, I found Terraria to be super addictive. It has a nice balance of open world exploration, crafting, and goals to work for. I think I've sunk 100+ hours into it. |

can somebody login to minecraft and try to get to multiplayer server mineplex.com and tell me if it is working.

damnit.
After all this effort it turns out the reason none of the servers are working is becuase they released a new version of the loader today and none of the servers have upgraded yet. JFC
