****Thursday Night Football Colts vs Titans****

Interested to see if the Colts bounce back from their embarrassing loss last week against the Rams.

Titans fresh off their loss to the Jags.

Will it be a good game?

The Chiefs did that same thing in the 70s and it killed them for years; and that's without the shackles of the salary cap.

They'd have been better served franchising and trading Flacco than giving him the deal they gave him.
That's fair. I can definitely see that being the case.

It comes down to planning, I guess. I hope Dorsey and Reid implement a plan this coming offseason for Alex Smith. He wouldn't warrant a mega contract extension like Flacco, but there's still the issue of keeping him or not keeping him, and if that roster prep isn't made the season before, the Chiefs might get caught with their pants down like the Ravens did in an all-or-nothing situation.

Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers can all win another SB. Rapelisburger and Manning won a SB after they got paid.

So, what were you guys saying again?
I presume you weren't paying attention when I noted the first 4 guys you mentioned as being the 4 in the NFL worth paying; those guys are legitimate legends.

As to Ben and Eli, 3-5 years ago, the deals weren't quite as prohibitive. They were expensive, but they weren't absurd like the ones we've seen recently.

Look at where the baseline's been set now. With Romo/Flacco setting the bar, QB contracts could and likely will go absolutely insane.

And if they do, teams would be far smarter not to bite, IMO. Giving 15-20% of your salary cap to a quarterback that isn't truly elite (i.e everyone that isn't Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers) is going to damage the hell out of teams.

Colts win by 3 in Tennessee with help from a ST turnover.

That is a really good Colts team.

Should be a tough matchup at Arrowhead.

But yeah, the NFL is just full of 'easy decisions', isn't it? I love the folks that think there's a dogma to follow.

Billion dollar industry full of mufti-million dollar failures, but the answer to the whole thing is 'easy', eh?
Ravens went the route with the super team stacked with talent. Didn't win anything until Flacco got to town. His playoff record is outstanding. Beat Len Dawson's playoff road record. Won a Super Bowl. Pay the man.
