They got what they deserved
Just finished watching the Chiefs at Colts wildcard game. I don't see the outcome as an aberration or "epic failure" by the Chiefs. It was simply more of the same they they'd demonstrated during the season - they were strong enough to beat weak teams but not strong enough to beat good teams.

Maybe next year it'll be better for your guys.

Hopefully it won't.

Yes, the secondary is THE glaring defensive weakness. Lewis, Cooper and Smith are liabilities more often than not. Flowers' best days may be behind him. Many of the DBs tackle poorly.

On offense, the wide receivers must be upgraded. Bowe does halfway decent on quick slants and crosses; otherwise, he's a surprise. How many times in the season did you count the ball hitting him in both hands before it fell to the ground? In the playoff loss, Bowe's 4th down out-of-bounds catch - this veteran receiver hasn't yet figured out that he must have more space between himself and the sideline before his QB throws the ball. Avery is just a smaller, quicker, faster version of Bowe who can get farther downfield before he drops the ball.

On the positive side, Alex Smith is an interesting question mark. Decent arm, cautious, good mobility, decisive. I thought he performed well. I noticed many of his throws travelled less than 15 yards. That was obviously by design; I wonder what the OC was hiding? It'll be interesting to see what additional wrinkles the offense adds next year.
