Could anyone suggest a lawyer for me

I need a good personal injury attorney. My job where I got injured is being very evasive about wanting to give me workman's comp. My injury will require therapy and possibly surgery so I need that covered I also could sue the homeowner where this happened. I'd appreciate any help from you guys.

Perhaps it was, but would Mecca have been on the sidewalk if it had not been for the invitation of the homeowner?

well, thats true. I was basically presuming that the sidewalk was icy the entire day since the morning, before the homeowner even made the call. If thats the case, then its pretty black and white to me.

However, if it is icing during or shortly before the delivery, the delivery guy should probably assume every sidewalk is icy.

It may be clear only if you are thinking about an icy sidewalk. Its the same reason why we have wet floor signs, if you are thinking "I wonder if this restaurant floor is wet", youll see it, but we reasonably expect restaurant floors to be dry unless warned.

Similarly, if the ice storm was a couple days ago, we expect that the homeowner would have cleared it before calling for pizza.

If you go to a store that just mopped, creating a dangerous walking surface, and slip and fall because nobody put a sign up indicating the danger...is the person that slipped the one at fault?

Would the home owner have to be aware that there was ice on his sidewalk to have responsibility? I mean there are times I might be watching some sporting event, call in for a pizza, and have no clue what the weather is like outside prior to opening the door at the chime. Seems like one would have to prove knowledge of the ice by the home owner if they went that way with a suit. Of course what is reasonable, and what is the actual law are in conflict at times it seems.

As evidenced by the mixed responses in this thread, I don't think that's really an expectation everyone agrees on. I would never make that assumption myself. And it's not like it wasn't evident whether the sidewalk had been cleared and de-iced. With a wet floor, that distinction cannot be easily made. But if the sidewalk is covered in snow, it's pretty much a given. Which is why I think this is a personal responsibility issue. He couldn't have been negligent to the fact that the sidewalk was probably slippery. Even if the homeowners should have cleared the sidewalk, he still knew the dangers of walking over snow-covered pavement.

He unreasonably built up everyone's expectations about DaJuan Morgan.

I'm not reading the whole thread, but it sounds like he's thinking about suing a homeowner because he slipped on some ice on their sidewalk? I'm not sure I would buy into that. Any time you fall, is the property owner liable? I kind of view it as my responsibility to not walk off cliffs, not step into abandoned wells, and be careful when I see slippery stuff. Ice in winter is a natural phenomenon. Sorry, Mecca.

I used to have 2 delivery Pizza places and had a case exactly like this. She recieved full workmans comp benefits and 0 in her suit against the home owner as she has responsibility to exercise due care in the conditions described.

I don't think the OP or anyone posting is saying that the home owner or his place of employment should fill up Mecca's studio apartment with gold coins so he can ****ing swim around like Scrooge McDuck because he slipped on ice.

If anyone seriously believes that an employer won't try and **** over an injured employee or workmans comp works like it should 100% of the time should get their head examined. Having legal representation on retainer just in case is a good idea and seriously get off your moral highhorse.

Basically cp made assumptions, pat finally got the phonecall on his red shitpost phone to drag his awful dc posting into the lounge and well congrats on morphing another thread into a tire fire.
