Conference image helps all of its members. The fact that it annoys the shit out of opposing fans is just icing on the cake...sweet, sweet icing.

Agree 100%. I would NEVER root for Michigan, and I know their fans wouldn't root for us. Rooting for a rival is ignant.

I'm not talking about the actual games, those are almost always enjoyable to watch. I'm talking about the "having your cake and eating it too" mentality Reaper alluded to in this or another thread. You can't tell me it's the most heated and intense rivalry in all of college sports if Bama fans are dropping to their knees to eat Auburn dick in a title game.

Does not compute.

Well, it certainly does suck that the Chiefs shit the bed last Saturday.

But the AFCW really has a chance to shine! We can prove we're the best division in the NFL! Go Broncos! Go Chargers! Win one for conference pride!

I know they handed us four of our six losses on the season, but let's just put that behind us and root for the winner of Saturday's game to win the Superbowl.

Conference wins bring in money and better recruits and that's just a whole lot more enjoyable than passionate rivalries.
