They love Indiana Jones movies though.

My oldest loves Star Wars and my youngest made it halfway through "Empire" and said "that's enough". They are only two years apart, so I guess it's just a personality thing.

There are legitimate arguments against some on that list. Movies like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings dip into genres that some people will have no interest in. Although if you're a fan of movies you're doing yourself an injustice by avoiding them.

And why is Inception on that list?

As a big movie buff I watched the first Star Wars and the first two LOTR,just had no desire to go any further.

Because it's a great movie. I don't know if I would put it as high as that on my personal list, but it deserves to be there.

I've never seen Citizen Kane or Casablanca. I haven't seen really ANY classic western movie. I need to change that soon.

Whoa.

Skip Citizen Kane. Watch Casablanca.

My favorite classic Western is probably The Searchers, though there are many others you could go for, and the Searchers has less action than some.

Same here.

Never grew up with westerns. Never bothered to see them in the theaters. So I never bothered with the old ones.

I'd probably really like them. Again, I've just never bothered to dig into the genre.

As far as black and white classics, I like On the Waterfront the best. And I like Casablanca but I like the Maltese Falcon more.
