Geno Smith Escorted off airplane by police for verbal altercation
Apparently he was upset with their seating policy. Can't you see Brady, Manning or Rodgers doing this?
http://deadspin.com/geno-smith-alleg...ops-1503821554 Geno Smith Allegedly Escorted Off Plane By LAX Cops [UPDATE] Geno Smith Allegedly Escorted Off Plane By LAX Cops [UPDATE] SEXPAND Jets quarterback Geno Smith was apparently escorted off a Virgin America flight at LAX today by police after what a witness called a "verbal altercation." The photo you see above was sent to us by a reader who witnessed the incident and says the shot came "moments before" Smith was escorted out of the airport by cops. Our tipster wasn't the only person who saw it: @JimmyTraina I don't have video, but I'm at LAX and just saw a Geno Smith fiasco yelling at Virgin America workers. Escorted by cops LOL — Mark Rue (@markyOso) January 17, 2014 We're working on getting more details, but it looks like Geno's weekend isn't off to a great start. Update (7:11 p.m.): Our tipster fills in some details: We were waiting for our flight at LAX to Vegas and were put on standby on Virgin American just like Geno. We were told to get seat assignment at 2:40. Apparently Geno was not on board with that. My friend walked over to discuss seat assignment and Geno was saying to airline ticket agents, "**** that, this is bullshit." "Why the **** do I have to wait until 2:40." He would not let it go. He continued to curse and be loud for about 5 minutes. Police were called. They talked for a few minutes and then 3 officers escorted him out of the terminal. Did he start all season for a team that made the playoffs and beat us twice? Would we have been better with him beside DJ in the middle instead of the idiot that was there? Was he better than Geno or Fisher?

Not taking an airline employee seriously. According to the Daily News, Smith was kicked off a Virgin America flight out of Los Angeles International Airport on Friday because he refused to get off his cellphone after being asked three times by the flight crew. Here is a portion of the Daily News’ story: “The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., the source said, when LAX Port Authority cops got a call to respond to an incident at Gate 37A. A Virgin America supervisor had already escorted Smith from the gate and both were at the airline’s kiosk because the flight had already departed. “The supervisor told the cops that the captain hadn’t wanted Smith on the flight.” After repeatedly being asked to get off his cellphone, Smith was booted off the plane and not allowed to schedule another flight with Virgin America. “He (Smith) said he didn’t know why he was kicked off the flight,” a source told the Daily News. “He said it was because he was black. Virgin Airlines refused to re-book him because he was being disruptive.” Smith had a rough rookie season, throwing 12 touchdowns, 21 interceptions and eventually getting benched. This is not a great way to start a new year. Anyone with a television knows battling airline employees is a losing battle. A passenger might be able to get away with one warning, but the airline representative's mood will not improve after a second warning. Nobody enjoys turning their phone off prior to takeoff, but everyone understands the repercussions of testing those boundaries. Well, not everyone. Chalk this one up as another bad decision by Smith. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...7930--nfl.html |

What other young QB do you see pulling this shit? Andrew Luck, Kaepernick, Wilson, Newton.....etc. Smith's acting like he's arrived and was no doubt being a dick when asked to get off the phone, as flight attendant's normally will ask you to do when the plane is getting ready to take off. You can say it's just about being young and making a dumb mistake, but why don't you see his successful peers having some of these same issues? He still appears to be the same lost in the sauce clown that made a fool out of himself prior to the draft. |

Sounds like an entitled douchebag.
Here's another way of looking at it - Is Geno handling himself the way he is because Rex wants his young QB to be himself? Many times players emulate their coaches... That said, it is certainly possible that Geno is just a dumbass all on hi own. |

I loved the guys ability to play QB at the college level, and thought he would make a good pro under Andy if given the opportunity to sit back and watch how the NFL works for a season or two. Sounds like sitting back and being patient just isn't in this kids' DNA.

I think we're assuming he would have been okay with that. I wanted him for a 1.1 too, but the more stories I hear, the more it sounds clear that his attitude was a very big reason he dropped.

There were a heck of a lot more of them before the draft last year. The love affair several people here had with that kid is one of the strangest things I have witnessed. People would try and reason with them and they would go mental
