I finally found a source for Nasi Goreng ingredients. And I am loving it.
They're not complicated [mostly basically a shrimp version of fish sauce], but they are tasty.

I cooked buffalo chicken thighs, Hy-Vee had them 79 cents a pound and I bought two packs. Since I had no room in the freezer I cooked them both. Been surfing for a good chicken and tortilla casserole to make tomorrow to put a spin on what I already cooked up.

Made a salsa Roja tonight with guajillo and chipotle peppers then puréed for an enchilada sauce. Assembled that and topped with Baja slaw. Guests made flourless chocolate cake with ancho peppers which was spectacular.

My mom came in town this weekend. We made oxtail stew. The real thing. Floured and browned meaty oxtails, cabbage wilted in the "gravy", maters, spices, and barley. Simmered for bout 6 hours till u could just suck the meat, cartilage, and bits off the bones. True masterpiece.

I just got back from a fairly high end japanese restaurant. The sushi was excellent, the beef ribs were great, and the chilean sea bass was delicious. We're just going with homemade turkey pot pies tomorrow, and those are going to be a big letdown after tonight's fare.

Grilled up a tri tip yesterday. Seared both sides at 650 for 2 minutes then let it cook through at 350 until internal temp hit 128

Lately I've been seasoning my chicken with masala powder, turmeric and chili powder. It's simple and adds a delicious zing. Can also add yogurt and marinate it.
