Trade for Jackson (this years 3, next years 1 and 4). Trade down from 23 depending who is on the board, in order to recoup picks.

If the reports are true...he may get released if not traded. Maybe...maybe Andy and Co. are hold their breath that he gets released. Hell, they might be in negotiations. I am not really up for trading for him as I would rather draft one in the 1st...but if he is released, you would have to think we would be a favorite to sign him because obious relationships are obvious.


...but then he signs with Denver.

No, that's way too much to give up for a small receiver. I don't care how explosive he is, and I'm a Cal alumn/fan who was there when Jackson was still playing for us.

He's way too much of a "me, me, me" player to give up that kind of compensation for. The only guys that you trade that much for are either:

1. A truly transcendent talent at their position who is still young.

2. A great player who is really unselfish and would be a leader in your locker room as well as an impact player on the field. The Larry Fitzgerald types.

Jackson is neither of those things.

He'll only be explosive for 3-4 more years, 5 at most. Then he comes back down to regular NFL speed and won't have the size/tenacity to make up for it.
