I only comment because I've heard this floated on the radio before, and it's garbage. Hopefully I misunderstood what you were saying.
If the QB is the BPA, you do, and for QBs I'd give a generous curve. That doesn't mean reaching. You don't have to get a Peyton Manning elite QB. Right now, the Chiefs need a QBOTF and while Alex Smith was better than I expected, he can be upgraded too. You keep using picks on QBs because even if you find a QB just a little bit better than Alex Smith, QB is so important that that's a huge upgrade.

Both sides of the team building nucleus the Chiefs have in place believe in drafting quarterbacks over and over, especially with premium picks.

How many years in a row did they pick a QB? Chiefzilla says "you keep doing it", as in every year. What team drafts a QB high every year, year in year out? All you have to do is name one. Should be easy, since that is how "you do it", right?

I said they should draft a QB high if he's BPA, and that that BPA should be more generous given the positional value.

When did I say it was easy to find a QBOTF? The fact that it's hard to find a great QB is the exactly the reason to keep trying. And be pretty aggressive about it. The 49ers had Alex Smith and still chose to draft Kaepernick. The Seahawks whiffed on a 3rd round trade and 20-pick 2nd round swap for Whitehurst, completely whiffed on a huge contract for Matt Flynn, whiffed on a big contract for Tavaris Jackson, and still had the guts to use another high pick to draft Russell Wilson.

I don't know if it means every year. However many times you get a QB that falls to you BPA. Unless you have a hall of fame QB or you're oozing with talent at QB, there is always opportunity to get better. How many failed QB experiments do you think it took Seattle and Philly to find their guys?

Nice work.
Maybe they will then. I just feel Reid has so much faith in Smith that a pick on a QB here would be a waste sitting on the bench. If the chiefs had a full complementary of picks + I think it might be more plausible.

Btw, I turned to my son and his friend the second we heard of the Vick trade and said, Reid wants him to be his starter! I was right on that one.

Tannehill's fate is yet to be determined, but if history holds, he's going to begin his digressive slide to doom starting in 2014.

(fixed that for you)

It is funny how things have worked out on ChiefsPlanet, that the position that we need to spend a high draft pick on a QB (which is true) has been so consistently embarrassed by the board groupthink latching on to QBs who fail. You can set your watch to it.

Who really cares, I guess, but it's funny how this crowd can't pick a winner to save our lives.

Funny that you added Geno Smith. See my previous post.

Only 1 of the QBs I wanted made that list, but he doesn't deserve to be there, yet... Tannehill.

Wasn't around for all the Sanchez and Clausen shit but I wanted Dalton (in the 5th, though - I think he sucks currently but hes no Sanchez or Clausen), Tannehill, Cousins, and Manuel.

So **** you all!

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
