So the final season premiered last night, apparently.

Had no idea. About the premiere part. Knew it was the last season.

The west wing was great because it existed in a fake world and we could all get behind the characters. This show just serves to give him a platform to lecture on and on about how awful everyone not named "Aaron Sorkin" is.

That ending on the airplane a few episodes ago was as awkward as I've seen a TV show. Telling the pilot, telling the cops... It's like he still thinks he's writing for the 1950s.

Heh, I forgot about this scene.

Leave it to Recyclorkin to start off the new season with a producer bullying his way out of jury duty to go 'produce some very important breaking news!!!'

Yeah, the way we are heading is where Sorkin excels. He writes very good high stakes scripts. I look forward to how this all plays out.


And it is a very smart decision to have the wedding as background noise so far. Normally, that trope would be front and center.

For those who wonder why those who snark on Sorkin, snark on Sorkin. Tonight was the night.

Holy Shit! was that a great episode of The Newsroom.

And in all that ways that Sorkin can be great, and irritating, and grand.

The little things, they asides, the quips and the quirks.

A million times we've said 'we get what you're going for, but you're falling short.'

That was Kirk Gibson walk off moment, some of his best work ever.

I have really enjoyed this season of the Newsroom. WIth that being said, thank god the HR storyline ended. I thought it was bullshit to begin with and it ended up being bullshit. The only saving grace was it gave Olivia Munn more screen time.

As far as the whole gawker thing, I was befuddled by the outrage at the whole paid by the click angle. The internet has been measured that way since the late 90's. This is not some sort of corrupting influence. However, Jim eviscerating his GF for her article was right on point. Sorkin at his best. The only storyline missed would have been why these idiots think it is a good idea to get interviewed by gawker after they do something dumb.


I am really interested in the main storyline this season, but the rest has been pretty meh. 2 episodes left?
