Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)
A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.
A few quick ground rules:

Even before Shae stepped up, I think Tyrion had figured out Tywin perfectly. If he does beg for mercy, and is "sent off to the Wall", he would barely make it out of sight of the city walls before someone under orders would slip a dagger between his ribs.
Also, Dance and Dinklage are teaching a master class in acting here. Everyone else is doing well, but those two especially are two of the best working today. |

Epic scene at the end, Tyrion just blew up Tywins plan. I hope it doesn't cost him his head, I love the ill guy.

Excellent episode, although all of Theon's scenes are uncomfortable to watch. |

Boom. Tyrion telling like it is and not letting Tywin get his way. If the trial by combat goes down, I'm assuming he selects Jaime as his champion too. That would put Tywin in essentially a no-win position (losing both his potential heirs in one swoop).

Yes. Charles Dance should have been in Star Wars or something. He would have kicked ass as a Sith Lord.

How the hell can a show develop characters so well I find myself liking Jamie Lannister who I despised in season 1 and wanted dead?

I know, and I find myself feeling sorry for Theon even though he betrayed Robb, fake killed Bran and Rickon, and took Winterfell killing Sir Rodrick among others.
Dinklage was just awesome at the end of this episode. Can't wait for next week! |

I'm a little foggy on the Iron Bank/Stannis arrangement. How does backing Stannis financially help the Iron Bank collect from the Lannisters?
Can anyone clear that up for me? |

Pure assumption - Stannis gets his bank roll, raises monster army, steamrolls the Lannisters, signs away Lannister holdings and properties to the Iron Bank. Either that or the three bank officers get to run a train on Cersei with their buds. Maybe both.

I haven't seen this episode yet but it's the crown that is in debt to the iron bank (and through the crown the Lannisters). By backing Stannis, should he win, that debt would then be taken on by him. They're just trying to get paid.
