It's not like he's renting for ten years or something. Renting for a year or two makes sense if your not sure you want to stay in an area long term. You wanna talk putting $ in someone else's pocket ? Try getting out of a house after a year. Yes it's a buyers market in Phx but that also means if your trying to get out of that house after a year, your potential buyer has tons of other options. I generally agree w you, if you know you are in an area you want to be at least mid term.
