Is it just me or...

Does it seem that Dorsey is trying to build for a run after the Manning era ends in Denver?

I don't say this often, but I agree with Laz.

Three of the four highest draft picks he's had have gone to replace soon-to-be-departing veterans.

Fisher, Albert
Ford, Hali
Gaines, Flowers

Kelce's the only exception to that. And Davis was a very late third.

A 3rd pass rusher and secondary help and we advance last year. So know it isn't just about the future they can help compete now.

It seems like a balanced transition to me. No "scorching of the earth" ala Herm.

For what it's worth, we've only got one high-impact free agent coming up next year that I know of (assuming Alex Smith and Justin Houston get extended.... which I do), and that's Rodney Hudson.

As for 2016, we'll be losing Stephenson, Avery, Berry (if not extended), Jamaal Charles (ditto), Mike DeVito, Derrick Johnson, Poe (if not extended), and Sean Smith.

It's way too far to guess, but my guess is we'll bring back Berry, DJ, and Poe in 2016 (I want to believe in Charles, but he'll be looking for a fat twilight deal). That'll give our roster big holes at OT, RB, WR (if it hadn't been filled in 2015), and DL.

If I had to guess, I bet we go OT in the first round in 2015 (to anticipate Stephenson walking and assuming Fisher's continued struggles), and DE in the first round in 2016.

But, like I said, it's just speculation.

I think, barring any huge surprises, OT definitely will be a huge hole going into next offseason.

You have one year left of Stephenson, and you've got the projected struggles of Eric Fisher. The best hope there would be to go OT.

My ideal would be to land one in the 2nd round and GET A ****ING PLAYMAKING WR in the 1st. But the Chiefs will likely sit still in the draft while more competent teams figure out exactly who's on their big board AS THEY ALWAYS DO AND TRADE PAST THEM TO GET THE PLAYMAKERS THEY KNOW ANDY REID WANTS.

WHY GOD WHY MUST I BE A CHIEFS FAN AND BEREFT OF HOPE

Not excited.

The last Canadian physical freak show was some nose tackle drafted by San Diego in the 4th round years ago. I forget his name.

He was huge, he was athletic, and he was nasty. And I don't know if he ever played a live snap for the Bolts.

Edit: Vaughn Martin. Here's his bio page.

If they don't extend Smith, prepare for comp. picks to be dealt like cards flying in the breeze to draft a QB. Possibly.
