Years ago, I think 1995, a new McDs opened up at 291 and 39th street. The first week they were open, they had all kinds of specials, and one day it was something ridiculous like $.10 cheeseburgers, limit 20 (my numbers could be off). My buddy and I went and maxed out and tried to eat them all. Some of the most miserable I've ever been from eating.

My diabetic senior parents go to Captain D's every week. It's part of their routine. I was pondering how much life expectancy they were losing, but went to their web site and it didn't seem nearly as bad as I expected: http://www.captainds.com/uploaded/Nutritional%20Information%20for%20Captain%20D's%20May%202014.pdf
Now granted, is a meal one serving or do all of these things end up being doubled or tripled as a two-piece or three-piece meal? Maybe by the time you add everything up it's still 1,200 calories or more. And I'm curious about the jalapeno poppers and "Captain Sandwich" under "other favorites". Are they dipping those in lard or something?
