I wouldn't have been pissed to see Davis come in, but Shields was ON tonight. I didn't see a problem with Shields coming back out the way he was pitching.

strictly using Davis in the 8th is what makes it a bad decision...so Ned kind of is at a lose/lose here

if he used Davis correctly, Shields in the 8th would have been the right move

but if you want to win more games over a long stretch of time...mathematically speaking, the way Yost uses Davis, he should have been in the game in the 8th. He's a superior 1 inning pitcher than James Shields and it's not close.
