Granted, a 7 step drop play call on the 1 yard line was IDIOTIC.

Knile was getting his ass run over by a DT at the time.

True.

Alex Smith DOES NOT throw the ball away when he's in the pocket.

I have absolutely no idea what his hangup is.

IIRC he is not getting many snaps or designed plays. (I could be wrong)

I don't remember many dropped passes from him either from his time in a couple preseason games and his other limited time.
Compare this to Bowe and Avery's dropsies.

Sad, but yes. He had one nice catch where he made two defenders miss and he got the first down. For a chiefs receiver - to get open, catch the ball, evade 2 defenders and get a first down (all on the same play) stands out and doesn't seem to happen all that often. Baby steps.

Better than Bowe and his body catching which lets defenders knock the ball out.

another 3rd down catch/drop

getting beyond old

Well you guys are simply more optimisitic about him than I am, as a matter of fact this entire group needs completely blown up. The only guy who I'll hold out any hope for is Bowe, as lackluster as he's looked so far, atleast some of that might be attributable to the offense as a whole struggling.

But even with him, if he doesnt pick it up this year... he can get bent, too.

Avery can go, same for Bowe if he doesnt pick it up, Jenkins and Heminway can go sell cars, Hammond and Wilson and can have a camp invite and nothing more.

If Dorsey honestly wants to make a real push in 2015, it needs blown up, I'm talking a top tier FA, a middle tier free agent, a top 3 draft pick and atleast one more lower round draft pick... blame Smith arguments hold no water here, if this group was any damn good he'd target them more often, period.
