Why can't you downgrade? Uninstall the app, then download 4.9.5 from the link on your phone. Once installed, go into its page on the Play Store, then click the three little dots in the upper-right to uncheck auto-update.

As for alternatives, Forum Fiend works on the same API, so it'll work with ChiefsPlanet, but it's pretty clunky.

I just have my work phone - they don't care that I use it for personal use. And they won't support anything but iPhones. Otherwise, I'd be on Android.
