Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Damn, that's pretty harsh. They doctored the balls, they didn't commit mass murder.

Good Christ. Brady had a whopping 220 yards passing. They ran the ball 40 times.

Indy had 3 turnovers and only 200 yards of offense.

Because he didn't have to pass anymore. He got his lead by cheating then coasted. Forced Indy to play from behind, illegally.

Soft ball favors the RB as well. Bigger runs with less risk of fumble. That sucker was nice and snug.

Quit supporting cheating. It's dumb.

I wonder how much more offense Indy would've had if luck could get a better grip, and accuracy on deflated balls.

Luck had the second most turnovers in the league before that game.

I'm guessing he still would have coughed it up...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

NE D played well.

He looked good in Denver. Outplayed Peyton.

Maybe Denver should question the balls the Colts used...

eDave:

Agreed. It has nothing to do with the score. I have been a member at CP a long time. Therefore, I have been in plenty of Chiefs' game threads. If an opponent were accused of cheating, this place would explode – and rightfully so.

The spirit of competition dictates a level playing field. If a team is found breaking league rules and tampering with equipment, they should be punished vigorously.

This has been a horrible year for the NFL. The officiating has been terrible this season and for years, it is ignored. As soon as a sport loses its integrity, public interest will decline.

Belichick has shown that he doesn't give a damn what the rules are and that he has no respect for the game, his opponents, or for the fans who ultimately pay for this billion dollar industry.

The Patriots lost a first round draft choice over Spygate. They will lose one over this, and they will be fined heavily. If Goodell has any balls at all (which I doubt), he'll put the Patriots on probation and threaten them with a college-like postseason ban for a year or two if they get caught blatantly and deliberately breaking the rules again. Belicheat has permanently tarnished his image in the same manner that Barry Bonds tarnished his. Unlike Bonds, he'll go into the Hall of Fame, but people will remember Spygate and Deflategate forever.
If it cost the Chiefs a first round draft pick and say a million dollar fine to go to the Superbowl, I think most all the fanbase would take that penalty to be honest.

That is if he prefers a deflated ball 'cause he may like his inflated more or the same as they're supposed to be.

Of course they would. That's why an NCAA-like probation with a possible postseason ban is the only thing that would get anyone to take it seriously.

How much money changes hands betting on NFL games?

When cheating becomes more common and ruins the spirit of the game, it is off to the races.

I am beginning to wonder about match fixing.

I got to go...the world is falling apart - take cover
