How many players have we managed to piss off over the years? Maybe it's just because you don't hear as much about a team you're not a fan of but it seems like a number of players have felt offended by the Chiefs' offer to them or their overall treatment by the club.
Chance that we end up losing both Houston and Hudson within a year from now? I'm putting the over/under at 75%. |

I'm not going to piss on KC right now because Houston did hold out when he was drafted in round 3. He's like Revis. First chance he can hold out he will.

No way to tell if this is simply posturing or if either side is being unreasonable.

There isn't a single team in the NFL that will give up two first round picks and $15 million plus per year for Justin Houston. He has the dumbest agent in all of sports. |

Prediction: 1) First, people will say this is just smoke/posturing from his people 2) Once it becomes clear that it isn't just posturing, people will move on to saying he isn't worth the price 3) Whatever team Houston signs with will dole out a huge signing bonus and spread the contract out long enough to manipulate the salary cap. 4) During training camp, Dee Ford and whatever slapdick FA is signed to take Houston's snaps/role will be viewed as a sure-fire breakout star who will match Houston's production (since he's never getting 20 sacks again, anyway). 5) And, eventually, it will be obvious that not signing him was a huge deal, but the Chiefs homers/apologists will still defend it as the right move, for various (bullshit) reasons. Sure am glad the Chiefs locked up Alex Smith instead of Houston. I mean, when you have the choice between locking up a completely mediocre player at an impact position and a completely elite player at an impact position, the choice is easy, right?

Houston will likely be the guy he was before his breakout season and have anywhere from 9-12 sacks from here on out. Any team that gives up two first rounders and 15 million + is foolish. |

Still has the fallback of just signing the franchise tender though. Lot of dumb teams out there but they tend to be the ones drafting higher that wouldn't give up the picks.

Despite what the internet wants people to believe, Houston is at a disadvantage in this situation. |
