Waino was looking sharp. Just a few pitches left up.

Heyward is keeping his hands up and in this year. Its allowing him to turn on the inside fastball that he had problems with last year.

Lester was made to look like a fool with runners on base. He is clearly not comfortable throwing a baseball to a base. The Cardinals took advantage of him. Dancing around the base daring him to throw over, he never did. He had a clear opportunity to throw out a runner at 3B and took an underhand toss to 1B. The National league is going to eat him up.

Walden's weird hop and mid 90's fastball is going to be lights out for us. Rosey looked on point last night but if he falters, Walden looks ready to step in.

I was there as well. Wrigley is, was and always will be a shithole.

I got the distinct pleasure of standing in a bathroom line for literally a half hour. With the renovations, like half of the bathrooms are closed and Wrigley never had that many to begin with. Guys starting pissing on walls and in beer cups.

As for the game, let's just say I am not worried about the Cubs contending this year. Outside of the first four hitters, their lineup is garbage. Cards looked very workmanlike and pitching was outstanding. Not a lot of power but it was cold as hell and the wind was blowing in.

Outside of their first 4 hitters they had Coghlan, Olt, Ross, Lester, and La Stella.

Coghlan hit .283 and had a .804 OPS last season. Olt will be replaced with Bryant in a month. Ross will likely only catch when Lester is pitching and be replaced with Montero. And La Stella is a new guy that carries a high OBP and is batting ninth as a "second lead off hitter" whatever that means.

It was very irritating. I know I'm biased because they are a rival but geeezzz they put up a video board. It MAY be nice someday but its not now. People unable to go to the bathroom, waits of an hour to get a hot dog. Seems to me that they could have got more done since the end of last season.

The owners are horrible. They got lucky and or broke MLB tampering rules and got Maddon. He is the real deal. I would have liked him over Matheny but Mo didn't ask me.

Epstein knows how to get it done. They do have a solid group of young hitters with POTENTIAL........potential doesn't always work out. The Cubs can buy some pitching, they have a multi-BILLION $ cable contract. Yet, this is the Cubs. 100+ years of losing with current horrible owners. They may be good next year or in the near future a playoff team but not yet. ESPN needs to quit acting like they are legit right now. Just
