Frustrated Pagano tough on Luck after loss

The Colts were a mess from the beginning Monday night and were ultimately doomed by five turnovers — three Andrew Luck interceptions — in a 20-7 loss to the Jets.

After the game, Colts coach Chuck Pagano didn’t try to hide his frustration with his quarterback and his team as a whole.

“He’s got to take care of the football,” Pagano said in his postgame press conference. “It’s not that hard. It’s not trigonometry.”

The simple math says that the Colts have scored three touchdowns and committed eight turnovers through two games, both losses.

“Can’t turn the damn ball over,” Pagano said.

Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star, who was at the game and at the postgame press conference, wrote that Pagano was “throwing Luck under the bus.”

While the Jets clearly frustrated Luck with a variety of blitzes and sometimes just by simply overpowering them in one-on-one battles in the trenches, Pagano hinted that Luck has to overcome his line’s shortcomings.

“[That has] been the case for three years now, hasn’t it?” Pagano asked. “He should be more than comfortable dealing with it.”

I give no QB's a pass for offensive line. Peyton and Brady make their OL look credible every year. Good QBs make average/below average lines passable. Luck gets no excuses. Glad his coach isn't afraid to call out a guy who has played two garbage football games

I didn't want to hate on the guy. I don't like hating successful players. But the NFL draft system and the cheating Colts forced my hand on this.

He must be stopped. Some way.

I hope his GM continues to **** him over so hard that he decides that he doesn't want to play for the Colts anymore after this season.

That's all I got left short of wishing a career-ending injury upon him.

Some of that is scheme, see: first 5 quarters of Manning. A 3rd year player isn't likely to force a scheme change. Hell Peyton ****ing Manning went all through the offseason and training camp with a ****ing joke of a scheme and (probably) singlehandedly had to tell the coach to

I'm not making excuses for Luck. He really should get his shit together and quit throwing the picks, but the same mentality to keep pressing after picks won him the post season game against us and lost him a regular season game against the Jets. If you want games like playoff game, you have to take games like this IMO. Point is, though, that some of the Manning/Brady making pedestrian lines look better is scheme.
