Point is, it's been a LONG time since the Chiefs had a team that legitimately could compete for a Super Bowl.

Now that we finally have the team, we have a HC and a QB that accentuate each other's deficiencies.

All it would take is for Reid to realize what Smith is and what Smith ISN'T.

Smith is NOT able to throw the ball 30/40 times a game, ideally. He's better than Trent Dilfer...but he's not as good as Drew Brees.

Reid should hand over play calling duties to Childress - who, not coincidentally, was Reid's OC in Philly when they went to 4 straight NFC Championship games and a SB, and when Childress called plays when he won 2 straight division titles and was 1 game away from a SB as HC in MIN as well.

That explains a lot - Childress actually ran a balanced offense in Minny that used the running game and went deep off of playaction in addition to the staples of the 'Reid/Gruden version of the WCO'.
