2013 World Series. Two wins from another World Series Championship
2014 NLCS. Three wins from another WS appearance
2015 Clinched Central Division title and Home Field advantage in the playoffs. First team in MLB to win 100 games since 2011.

  • Made the postseason 11 times in the last 15 seasons.
  • Only 1 losing season since 2000.
  • Reached the World Series 4 times since 2004 and won as many championships (two) the past eight seasons as it did from 1965 to 2005.
  • Made the NLCS 9 times including the last 4 years 2011-2014
  • Three million attendance? Take it to the bank.
  • 65 post season wins since 2004. 22+ wins more than any other team.

Wacha looks broken. The Cards have 2 reliable pitchers going into the playoffs in Lackey and Garcia. Hopefully the bats can get hot because I don't trust Wacha or Lynn right now.

Pham drops off the radar again as Jay and his fearsome .566 OPS and below average defense starts again. I hope I am wrong, but I think ironically what we have witnessed often all year, "addition by subtraction" as starters went down where replacements often enhanced our team. Now we might be looking at "subtraction by addition" at the worst time of the year.

Congrats to you Cards fans.

It was fun while it lasted but this will be another short post season for my Pirates IMHO with a loss in the wild card. I just don't see how we beat Arrieta the way he is pitching. He is beyond human since the all star break.

This format sucks. We are the SECOND BEST team in baseball and get to play one lousy game in the playoffs.

Saw on FS1 today, Pirates now own the longest division winning drought since the Royals and Blue Jays clinched.

I feel ya man. Saw the shots of the crowd all dressed up and ready to party tonight. You win 95+ games and you get to face Arietta in a winner take all game? Thats just not fair.

No team has won 100 games in 2012/2013/2014. It's been a while. And it took all of those wins to beat your team. You had us worried until that grand slam. Ive got nothing but respect for your team and wish you the best of luck the rest of the year...........except when you play us.

I like only facing Arietta once in the NLDS. Lester has been great lately but we have got to him in the past. After those two, there is a big drop off. Maybe those Cub hitters kill our pitching but maybe they fold under the playoff pressure and start throwing the ball around. Happens to some playoff team every year.

The Pirates offense is slumping right now. We only see Cole for 1 game. But, they are a damn good team. They could get hot and win a WS good team.

I'll rather play the Cubs.
