The 3 low fastballs called a ball that were clearly strikes didn't bother you but a breaker low called a strike and you want to complain?

The zone has been a !@#$ing keyhole so far tonight. Arrieta has been squeezed on one and Wacha's been squeezed on three.

I agree ... but if you don't think Arrieta is going to be pulling Bumgarner duty in game 5 (if it happens), you're nuts.

Chances are ... you'll get Lester for 5 ... and Arrieta for 4 (if needed).

I meant the 3rd pitch. However neither the 2nd or 3rd pitch was called a strike so I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about.

Lester doesn't scare me at all. He's just another good pitcher. He is beatable. Especially at Bush in a winner take all game.

So if he keeps throwing his curveball like the 0-0 curve he threw to Carpenter, we be ****ed.

That pitch is pretty much unhittable and when you pair it with his sinker diving the other way and his slider coming in on a different plane, you're in a world of hurt. Oh, and that's without even talking about the 4-seamer that his adrenaline will probably have humming at 98 if he needs it.

Stupid !@#$ing Wrigley basket...

I highly doubt Arrieta sees any action in this series after today. Bumgarner did his bullpen shit in game 7 of the WS. They still need Arrieta for the NLCS.

I'm not talking about a particular AB - I'm talking about the fact that the Cubs have one strike called against them that wasn't even terribly borderline and you're bitching, meanwhile they've had at least 3 strikes called as balls.

Seriously - the zone tonight has been tight as hell:

I'm not sure how you can complain about a strike being called against your boys when the zone has been ridiculously small thus far.

Man - if Fowler put on some muscle, I feel like he'd be a 25 HR hitter.

How many times does it look like he's absolutely smoked a ball only to have it die at the wall or in the gap? He really seems to do a good job of identifying balls he wants to drive - he just doesn't quite have the muscle to routinely do damage with them.

Hey, Lackey is a gamer and I respect him. I really do. But he isn't even in the same stratosphere right now as Arrieta. Remember, if it had been June, Fowler had him for a 2 run shot ... everyone knew that ball was gone and the cool air killed it.

I realize Lackey has the Cubs numbers but you can't compare "grit" to whatever it is Arrieta is strutting out there ... which is currently the most unhittable stuff in big league history.
