In everyone's eyes TCU didn't win the conference. Despite the "one true champion" BS and the "co-champ" garbage, the top 2 teams in the conference were TCU and Baylor and TCU lost the head-to-head. End of story.

For all the bitching about how the committee put in whomever they wanted, in the end it was the 4 legit conference champions that got in. Even then, it took Ohio State going LAPD on Wisconsin in the CCG to leapfrog Baylor.

The only discussion at the time was Ohio State or Baylor...and that question couldn't have been answered more clearly in retrospect. Baylor was a fraud, Ohio State was the best team in the country, and TCU shouldn't have given up a 61 spot to Baylor.
