Morse and Bailey expected to return to practice on Wed

Mitch Morse set to return to practice for Chiefs

Chiefs center was scheduled to practice Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs center Mitch Morse was expected to be back at practice Wednesday after suffering a concussion Nov. 29. David Eulitt deulitt@kcstar.com

Center Mitch Morse and defensive end Allen Bailey were expected to return to the Chiefs’ practice field Wednesday.

Morse had taken every snap this season until suffering a concussion in the Chiefs’ victory over the Bills on Nov. 29 and hadn’t seen action in practice since then. Bailey had been a limited practice participant with a calf injury, but both players were inactive for last week’s game at Oakland.

CHIEFS’ JARROD PUGHSLEY EXPECTED TO PROVIDE DEPTH AT GUARD, TACKLE

Three players with concussions — safety Husain Abdullah, defensive end Mike DeVito and wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas — were expected to miss practice. Linebacker Justin Houston wasn’t set to practice while recovering from a hyperextended knee. Tamba Hali also will sit out.

The Chiefs signed offensive lineman Jarrod Pughsley from the practice squad and waived center Daniel Munyer. Pughsley can play guard and tackle as the Chiefs sort through injuries along the offensive line. Guard Jeff Allen played only seven snaps at Oakland.

Pughsley “plays guard and tackle and steadily improved throughout camp,” coach Andy Reid said. “He’ll come in and add to the depth.”

Severe concussions can take a long time.

shit ... sometimes you hear about people having to sit in rooms with no lights on all day long because of concussion. A bunch of light gives them serious headaches after a concussion.

DaT seems pretty fragile so far.

Those bastards in Buffalo were head hunting.

Disappointing season for DAT. After all the hype and positives in the offseason, I was hoping he would be making more of an impact, and not just on STs.

Still time.. rest up, lil dude!

Thus far, McCluster was better.

Better is subjective.

McCluster was more productive because he was available. Hopefully, DAT can get healthy soon and for the remainder of the season.

Even when DaT was available he hasn't been as productive.

No question. The ONLY problem with DMC was that he was taken in the 2nd round. Had he gone in the 4th - I think many here would feel differently about the dude.

It looks like we could be a completely healthy team (minus JC/Gaines on IR) heading down the stretch.

I would expect there to be a strong possibility of DAT and Houston coming back next week.
I'd rest Allen for another week or 2.

Agreed - Very disappointing, after all the hype, to say the least. He's injury-prone. Not thinking he has an NFL body. He'll rest up, play and miss 4 games. Rinse-repeat. Thus far, that's his deal.

Fingers crossed. If this team gets healthy at the right time we could really be in for something special.

Yup.

It was never really about McCluster, but where he was drafted.
