Other Sports Big 12 to interview 17 schools about expansion

I think they do need to get back to 12 and a conference championship game. They will continue to find themselves at a disadvantage during the conference championship week when other power conferences get to showcase their teams to vie for the playoff.

Only Oklahoma and Texas have the national clout and respect to withstand being bumped out in favor of a championship week darling from another power conference. Texas sucks at the moment so that leaves only Oklahoma. A big 12 championship will change that for the TCUs, Baylors, OKST, etc.

The thing that sucks is its slim pickings for expanding.
