Madden '17
Anyone getting a little excited? Seems like they have really made an effort this year.
Franchise mode is getting an overhaul according to recent news: 1. Full player editing while your franchise is progressing. 2. Coaching/FO decisions. 3. In-game ticker with live updates. 4. Practice squads. 5. New commentary team that will actually talk about things happening in your franchise. 6. Draft has been tweaked with more busts/gems. Gameplay improvements: 1. Zone Coverage overhaul. 2. New ball-carrier special moves. 3. Real gap control on defense. 4. Real ball physics. In the past the ball would tether to a player based on ratings. They also overhauled kicking to make it a challenge now. There's a new three-click system and weather/location will play a factor. Also, apparently on clutch kicks if the opponent "freezes" the kicker by calling a timeout the kicking meter will disappear and you have to make the kick by muscle memory. Kicks and punts can also be blocked. How badly all of this shit is ****ed up on release remains to be seen but it does seem like they are making a big effort. |

holy shit, had an epic shoot out with the Colts
Charles had 340 total yards and 3 TD felt really good to punch this one in at the end |

One thing I've noticed is the free agent signings. The cap space you have available seems much more realistic (10m heading into FA instead of 30m like 2015). This makes it so much more realistic when you are trying to build a dying franchise. And, not every player signs simply because you have the highest bid. The point system on your contract offers is a nice addition. You really have to build a team through the draft.
The play is great as well. RB controls are better, more realistic movement, different blocking schemes. It's been a fun game. I enjoyed last year, and I feel this year is a great improvement.

I might try starting a franchise today. Up to this point I've only been in the play now mode.
Starting to get the hang of things a tad.

Shit... Are you ****ers telling me I actually need to check this ****ing thing out?
Is it really THAT improved over the last four? The graphics don't really look any better. The playbook looks almost exactly the same as always. |

There was never any issue with the playbooks so I don't see why that matters. You can do formation subs with the pre-constructed playbooks, however, which is a nice feature they've finally added back in. |

I dunno, I do like the fact that they allow you to **** with pre-constructed playbooks again. That might be nice.
I would like to see some different options on plays though. They've been the same for so long. I would like to see some changes there I guess. I've been anti-madden for a while now. I remember when I first got my PS4 and Madden 14 came with. I was blown away at first but then saw thru the bull shit. Players glitching out like a bitch. LB's jumping 6 feet in the air for an int, easy tackles being missed but impossible ones being made. Shit like that. Never a blocked kick or punt, no matter what you did. I'll check it out I guess. If it's worth a damn, I may grab it. I really wanted EA to take a year off and really upgrade the game. It could be so much more than it is now. |

What different options do you want?
You can literally choose a play, go to the line, and change every damn route that's being run on the field. Speaking of OPTIONS, almost every conceivable run option is in the game. You want flea flickers, halfback passes, quarterback sneaks, end arounds, reverses? All that shit is in there. KICK AND PUNT BLOCKING IS IN THE GAME The CPU just ****ed my punt right in the ass the other day. What do you want, tackle eligible plays? CHRIST. |
