I'm not Clay, I actually like Alex and acknowledge that he's our best option and I was wrong when I thought trading for him was a huge mistake. But comparing him to Green is laughable. |

There's no way that Smith would have been nearly as productive in Saunders system as Green. But Green, without the protection that line provided, would be productive playing behind the garbage that Smith has been playing behind. I don't even disagree that Green is the best QB not named Dawson for this team, and would argue that he was better than Montana for this team. I am just pointing out that Green did have that advantage.

I loved Trent Green as the Chiefs QB but he had more than just a great O line. He also had Tony Richardson and Jason Dunn to block and he had Gonzo to throw the ball to. He had a huge advantage over what Alex Smith has had. Maclin and Kelce are quality guys but Gonzo was unstoppable for the most part making catches with guys draped all over him. Gonzo was a game changer for Trent Green.

I didn't like Aikman either, but worse than MC? You are high.

Maybe true but Gonzo was so good that Alex might have thrown the ball into tighter coverage if he was throwing to him. Either side of that is just speculation.

If you're expecting stupid, is it really an incredible amount?

I love the part where it's always "the team fell short" with these transplanted nut-huggers when the Chiefs lose, but when Smith pulls the magical 8-ball game of the ages from his ass, it's "See(?) he was elite all along! Get on board"!
I don't care if you win. I don't care if you lose. But make no mistake; the enjoyment lies in watching the Pimps of Mediocrity eat big ol' shit sandwiches and Uncle Sweets kitchen is fired-up, the grill is warming, and a big basket of turd-fries are being dropped in to the hopper as we speak. Bon appe'tit. |

Variety is the spice of life. And since you've been getting none from your QB position for the last quarter century, I'm here to fill the hole in your soul. b) Combo plate: $8.99. When Green had a less than All Pro OL at all positions he was given the moniker of TrINT because his play was so atrocious. Green never even won a playoff game in that offense. They are different types of QBs that played in different offensive schemes but Green was in that same offense for most of his entire career. He never had to go through the coordinator, head coach carousel that Smith has had to endure. Greens first three years with the Chiefs 11,512 yards 67 TD 49 INT Smiths first three years with the Chiefs 10,064 yards 61 TD 20 INT Oh yeah Green was such a better QB than Smith. He did so much more while being in the most prolific offense that the NFL has probably ever seen.
