Alexander Douglas Smith: 2016

We wouldn't we want to roll out another Alex Smith thread?!?!? Listen, for the Clay haters, this will probably be the thread that gets him banned. He can't help himself, right? Let's go!!!

First off, as many of you know, I have been very critical of Alexander Douglas Smith. Wasn't happy with the trade, HATED the extension, and have burned him to the ground from the beginning. So ****ing sick of the retread QB's.

So, that said Alex Smith is my Daddy. I mean, I just have to own that at this point. Here's why. He's never had continuity in a system. That guy had a new offensive coordinator just about every year until Jim Harbaugh showed up. And he flashed a little bit. That said, it sure looks like San Fran traded their best QB to us in favor of some douche that's starting some thing all over the league, while riding the bench to a guy named Blaine Gabbert.

Alex is now in his 4th year of the same system and it's showing. He's getting better. Why is he my daddy now all of a sudden though? Because he proved that he's more than just a game manager. He made some ****ing incredible throws against the Chargers last week. The back shoulder Maclin throw, the Maclin throw where Jeremy was almost killed, The Spencer Ware throws. Twice he hit him downfield (like, way more than 8 yards!), and then finally the Kelce throws.

People can give Spencer Ware a lot of credit, he is deserving of it after the monster game he had. Make no mistake about it though, Alexander Douglas Smith personally put this team on his back and willed them to victory. 1 play at a time. 1 throw at a time. He's a leader, and it reflected in the locker room after that game. They trust Alex now. They trust that he has what it takes to will them to victory in any game.

Alex isn't just a game manager anymore. He's a game changer, and a leader. This team could go 6-10 this year and I'll say the same thing. He has the ability and he's proven it. Now let's see where they go with it. I'm officially a YUGE Alex fan. What do you think? I'll take your comments off air.

We have a shit offensive philosophy. It's geared like we have the 2000 Raven defense on this team. Add in all the limitations Alex brings to the table as a QB, and then you end up with games like tonight when our defense can't hold.

Hell, Clay likely is right. Numbers don't lie, and even Al and Chris were talking about it during the game tonight. Alex is in his 12th year as a quarterback and has *SIX* 300 yard games in 12 regular seasons. And what is his record against opponents that score 24+ against his teams? 4-34-1, or something?

Numbers don't lie.

But that was never the actual case with those ****ing mouthbreathers.

You point out the bad stats from Smith, the argument became "Troll, he's 40-22 over the last 62 games. Go jerk off to FF and 300+ yard games, wins are the only stat that matters" or whatever the **** it was and totally glossing over the fact those wins as a 9er came from an all-time great defense and against shit teams as a Chief.

Once the whole "wins are the only stat that matters" narrative gets brought up for other players that put Smith in a bad light, then suddenly stats are important again -like when BlackBob spouts off a 50% drop rate or whatever for Ted Ginn last season in spite of the fact it was him, Olsen and Jericho Cotchery keeping the Panthers alive in the passing game or when Derek Carr is "only" getting 9 yards a completion or whatever as the Raiders improve to a 3-1 record this year.

Panthers defense deserved far more credit than that offense which was worthlesss against an elite defense

i will have to admit, unless he changes his style and lights it up the rest of the year, it will be time to go another direction. as smart as he is, and doesn't throw 'many' INT's, he really is becoming a slight step up from cassel. alex is a likable guy, but ffs... throw the ****ing football.

and reid is simply an enabler. if he had any trust in alex, the ball would be going further than behind the line of scrimmage.

i napped from halftime on. but i was wondering... did kc go from the shotgun any? i have said this before and i will say it again. on top of the obvious lack of no huddle offense. wheres the ****ing shotgun if he doesn't have time from center to complete a pass.

Tigeruppercut just isn't a big fan of touchdowns, passing yards or points.

No interceptions and setting your defense up with good field position is the key to a good quarterback he says.

Reid is not perfect but Smith is the problem. He's had many coaches and the same result. He has the power not to throw wr screens if he chooses not to. He can audible but doesn't. Whatever football he had in him is gone and so is his arm strength, it's gotten worse. The man is rattled from the start and does not play with the guts we have seen in the past. Something is off with him more than usual.

It really is a let down that in year four this team is not worthy our admiration. Despite how bad the defense was tonight the offense is the problem.

Who was adamant that Alex be brought in? It's no surprise that Alex and the offense had a decent run last year and now they suck with Pederson gone.

The Chiefs are the diet version of the Eagles offense at best. Andy's playcalling of the same system is worse than Pederson's and we know for damn sure that Alex is diet Wentz on his best day.
