Trent Green was the ultimate example of this fan base being fair. We traded for a veteran and he had a terrible 2001 season. We treated him terribly. He dramatically improved in 2002. We liked him better (that was the birth of the Keep ****ing Doubting Trent Green thread). And 2003-2005 were breezes for him with this fanbase, even as we had some disappointing losses. He would make mistakes, but we'd keep backing him because we had seen him produce.

And don't say "OLINE" either, splatbass. If Alex Smith had Trent Green's OLine, he'd be just as ****ing pedestrian as he is now. Maybe he'd have a few more TDs, but I really doubt he'd crack 20 or get 4000 yards. Conservative play at all costs would continue to be the name of his game, and no amount of protection he had would ever change that.
