Nice try, but Smith lost the job to O'Sullivan in training camp. His shoulder didn't give out until AFTER he got banished to clipboard duty.

So how are those coaches that benched him doing? LOL.. they were idiots. Desperate idiots that were grasping for any QB that could lift up their own shit leadership. Fail.
If Alice was anywhere near as good as you swear he is, why would they be grasping for leadership from the QB?

Trading Alex Smith is proof of nothing, other than the fact that the 49ers traded away their best QB and have been going downhill since.

JFC, they started BLAINE GABBERT this year.
Brees is a good example, you also forgot Farve, and Steve Young, or even Kurt Warner...I'm sure there's a few others. The difference between those QB's and Alex is one thing.

Let's not be silly and talk about Brady being drafted in the 6th round as a team **** up...the draft is a crapshoot and both he and Montana are evidence of such.

The trading of Smith proves that the San Francisco franchise did not think he could put the club over the top. With Kapernick they came very close...much closer than KC has come in nearly 23 years.

I fully disagree.

Someone, and I don't know whom, felt that Smith couldn't get them over the top.

Whomever made that decision was likely wrong.

Harbaugh is gone. Word is the entire front office is gone.

Baalke paid a high price to trade Smith and got nothing in return, other than likely being fired from a job he'll never see again.

Smith was concussed.. Kaep came in and looked exciting and good. Either Jim or Baalke took the concussion as opportunity to try out their new toy.. so they bought into the belief that this young, cheap, and exciting QB could develop into an amazing, elite QB.. just in time for a new stadium. Oooops. They gambled and failed miserably. Alex was top 3 in efficiency and had the team at 6-2 when the concussion occurred.

Anyone who understood that the team's abysmal talent and carousel of coaches was a death sentence to all but perhaps a few QBs.

You can't be this stupid. His clavicle was being sawed through in every throw before being diagnosed. That, and newly acquired Martz loved his boy JTO, who was already familiar with the scheme.

And yet, he didnt...

The franchise had a window from 2011-2013, and didnt get over the top with both Smith and Kap.

Will he do it with KC? I would really like that to happen.

What? It wasn't Smith's fault that the 49ers lost in the NFC Championship game in 2011.

JFC.

In 2012, Smith was 6-2 before the concussion.

Again, he's not a HOFer at this point but anyone that thinks he isn't a Franchise QB knows nothing about the NFL.

No, they just released.

Drew Brees, Rich Gannon, Jim Plunkett, Peyton Manning...

Should I go on?

Heh...name calling indicates the loss. Just trying to follow your logic in this thread.

For me, franchise QB's dont get traded in their prime. HOF QB's do get let go in their twilight (Manning, Montana, Farve)...some teams do **** up and let go of a franchise QB, Farve, Young, Brees, etc...but Alex Smith does not qualify in that category yet.

Will he do it with KC, I'd love to see it...

Rather than call you names, I'll just say it was a good debate until your last post.

EDIT: Oh and YES, the draft is a crapshoot...see Brady, Montana.

Jesus Christ, when you guys break out these tired, hashed and rehashed arguments in yet another effort to denigrate the team because you hate the GM and HC's choice for QB, do you pull out the Members Only and Zubaz before you start typing, or it just a Starter Jacket with some parachute pants?
